The electoral authority ISIE approved the final result on Monday, spokesman Mohamed Tlili Mansri said, confirming Chaker Bouthouri's win by two votes once every appeal had been exhausted at the appeal chamber and at the administrative court's plenary session. The preliminary count after the second round on 19 July had given him a margin of seven. The result goes to the official gazette and the member takes his seat on 1 October; the council also approved a vote on 27 September on recalling the mandate of a member of the local council in Tamaghza, in Tozeur.

Trade Minister Samir Abid chaired a working session on Monday launching a study by the National Consumer Institute into how prices for farm and fishery products are formed and how their distribution channels work. The study is to analyse the gaps and margins between producer, wholesale and consumer prices in order to identify what is driving the imbalances. Health Minister Mustapha Ferjani chaired a working session on Tuesday on the national multisectoral plan against heat waves, and the ministry said in a communiqué the same day that an early warning system based on forecasts from the National Institute of Meteorology had been agreed. The measures also cover preparedness at regional level and coordination between the health services, Civil Protection and the other bodies involved, along with occupational medicine rules for the workers most exposed to heat and sunlight. Health facilities are to be kept ready, care protocols for heat-related cases updated, and public awareness campaigns run, with particular attention to older people, children and the most exposed groups.
