Iran says it has no concerns about the Türkiye, Saudi and Pakistani defence pact

Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Aug. 10 that Tehran had no reason to read the agreement, signed in Mecca on Aug. 7, as directed against it. He described it as a shift in how regional states approach security, relying more on their own capabilities than on outside powers. Any plan that correctly identifies the enemy and the threat has a chance of strengthening security, he said, referring to Israel; Yemen welcomed the pact on Aug. 9.
