Germany doubles its federal police anti-drone unit after the Leipzig airport incident

Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt will raise the federal police anti-drone unit to 300 personnel and take its operational bases from four to eight, days after an explosives-laden drone was found near a Ukrainian cargo plane at Leipzig-Halle. Dobrindt called the incident a hybrid attack scenario potentially involving a foreign power. The airport is a hub for German and NATO military transport and a base for Ukraine's cargo carrier Antonov Airlines.
