Tunisia's imports of Russian diesel and petrol fall by half

Tunisia's imports of Russian diesel and petrol averaged 24,000 barrels a day in the first nine months of 2026, half of last year's 48,000, according to the specialized platform Attaqa and Tunisia's statistics institute INS. Russia's share of Tunisia's refined fuel imports fell from 61.5 percent to 35.8 percent after Moscow curbed exports in July to protect its own supply following Ukrainian strikes on its refineries, with Italy, the Netherlands, Egypt and Spain filling part of the gap. Tunisia's energy trade deficit still widened, to 8.93 billion dinars from 7.15 billion a year earlier.
