Saïed presses banks to ease credit and rein in rising prices

Meeting the head of government and the central bank governor at Carthage Palace, President Kaïs Saïed called for a stronger role for banks in backing the economy, easier access to credit, and tighter action against corruption. He also urged cuts to imports to curb what he called an excessive rise in prices, and said justice in how wealth is shared must come before wealth is created.
