14-year-old dies of heatstroke working in the fields to pay for school

Amine Sayhi, a 14-year-old eighth-grader from Zelfan attending Thala College in Kasserine governorate, died of heatstroke while working in agricultural fields during the summer break, in temperatures that passed 40°C. Lawyer Nadia Chaouachi wrote on Facebook that poverty, not choice, pushes families to send children out to work, and asked how many more children like him are labouring in the same heat. No ministry or labour inspectorate has commented publicly.
