Saied says the polluting units at Gabès will not restart and the obsolete ones will be dismantled

A presidency statement on Tuesday said only units that have been overhauled and no longer emit pollutants will be brought back into service, while those judged obsolete and non-compliant are to be dismantled. Saied called Gabès a victim of environmental pollution and of what he described as political pollution, and said public plants are not for sale. The Stop Pollution campaign replied the same day that every unit pollutes and demanded that all of them be taken down.
