Appeal court confirms three-year terms for Ghannouchi and Bouchlaka over Ennahdha's foreign campaign funding

The criminal chamber handling financial-corruption cases at the Tunis Court of Appeal on Monday July 13 upheld the first-instance verdict against Ennahdha president Rached Ghannouchi and his son-in-law Rafik Bouchlaka: three years in prison for foreign financing of the party's 2019 election campaign. The court also fined Ennahdha's legal representative an amount equal to the value of the US dollars the party received.
