Journalists' federation launches petition for Zied El-Heni's release

The International Federation of Journalists and Tunisia's own journalists' union SNJT launched a joint petition calling for the immediate release of Zied El-Heni, sentenced to four years in prison by Tunis's anti-terrorism chamber. The IFJ's Anthony Bellanger condemned the use of anti-terrorism law to prosecute journalism and said protecting sources is fundamental to press freedom. SNJT head Zied Dabbar said El-Heni, who appeared by videolink from Mornaguia prison, could not properly follow his own defence.
