France's economy shrinks again, deepening doubts over the 2027 budget

French GDP fell 0.1 percent in the third quarter, its second contraction this year after a 0.2 percent drop in the first quarter and flat growth in the second, which economy minister Roland Lescure said leaves the country at a standstill. Lescure warned France will hit the wall if parliament fails to pass the 2027 budget, raising the prospect the government will push it through by decree. One economist said a technical recession is now highly likely in the coming quarters.
