Italy investigates Israel's defense minister over alleged abuse of Gaza flotilla activists
Rome prosecutors have placed Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and twelve senior officials under investigation over the treatment of activists detained aboard Gaza-bound flotillas in 2025 and 2026. Detainees have alleged beatings, death threats and at least 15 cases of sexual assault; Israeli officials have dismissed the case and continued to back their forces.
