Tunisia-EU red shrimp quota dispute goes before Mediterranean fisheries body in Rome
Tunisia caught 41.5 percent more red shrimp than its 2026 quota allowed, prompting the EU to block shipments to Italian markets; Tunisia argues the quota understates its fleet's real capacity. The dispute goes before the Mediterranean's regional fisheries body in Rome from October 26 to 30, which will also set catch rules for 2027.
