Tunisia launches interest-free 'honour credit' for individuals and small firms

A new interest-free financing platform, the 'honour credit', opens 1 October under Decree-Law 148 of 2026, letting individuals borrow up to 5,000 dinars, small project holders up to 10,000 dinars, and SMEs and community companies up to 25,000 dinars, without guarantees. Every bank must run the online registration platform, process applications in order of registration, and respond within ten working days. Loans carry a two-year repayment period with up to six months' grace.
