SONEDE to cut water supply in three southeastern governorates from Wednesday

The national water utility SONEDE said in a statement issued Monday evening that preventive maintenance at the Zarat desalination plant will disrupt drinking water supply in parts of Médenine, Tataouine and Gabès from 18:00 on Wednesday, 30 September. Higher-altitude areas and the ends of the network will be hit hardest: Médenine Nord and Sud, Djerba, Ben Guerdane and Sidi Makhlouf in Médenine; Tataouine Nord and Sud and Ghomrassen; and Gabès city, Mareth and Gabès Sud. SONEDE said supply will resume gradually from 22:00 on Thursday, 1 October.
