Iran offers seven-day plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz

Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi outlined a proposal at the UN General Assembly under which Iran would reopen the strait on day six if the US lifts its naval blockade and oil sanctions and backs a ceasefire, with talks on a final deal starting on day seven. The offer closely mirrors a June memorandum of understanding but on a faster timetable. Washington has not confirmed acceptance, calling talks with Tehran "positive and constructive".
