EU unblocks €6.6bn in Ukraine military aid, stalled since 2023
EU governments agreed to release the €6.6 billion from the European Peace Facility that Hungary had vetoed since spring 2023. Of the total, 900 million euros goes to the EU's military training mission for Ukraine, 1 billion euros funds joint equipment purchases, and 4.7 billion euros reimburses member states that already sent their own military aid.
