Commerce ministry expects rice and sugar to get cheaper, bigger supply from next week

Houssem Eddine Touiti, director general of competition and economic research at the commerce ministry, said on Mosaique FM that rice, sugar and hygiene products should get cheaper in the coming weeks. He said a packaging bottleneck for bulk rice has been resolved and more than 100 tonnes a day will reach the market from next week at the state trading company's rate, alongside a programme distributing 3,000 tonnes of sugar to households.
