Commerce ministry categorically denies fuel price rise rumours

The Ministry of Commerce and Export Development categorically denied, on Thursday, rumours circulating on social media of price rises for fuel, household gas and basic goods including milk, sugar, subsidised cooking oil, semolina and flour, saying 'the figures and information being circulated are baseless' and that no official document supports the claims. The ministry repeated that raising the prices of subsidised products 'is not on the agenda'. The denial came on the final day of a two-day strike by fuel-transport drivers, tied to an unpaid 2019 allowance.
