French driver held in Italy after anti-tank missiles found in his van

Italian police detained a 46-year-old French driver at the port of Bari after finding three live Akeron anti-tank missiles in his van, disguised under NATO-style training markings taped over their actual explosive warning labels. He told investigators he was hauling the equipment to Greece for repair by a defence contractor, but a court ordered him held pending further investigation into discrepancies in the paperwork and the origin and true destination of the missiles.
