STEG keeps rotating the power cuts as another heatwave approaches

STEG, the state electricity utility, cut power between 13:30 and 17:00 on Wednesday in parts of the centre of the country, in Sfax and in the south and south-west, saying the measure preserves the security and continuity of the electricity system. Demand reached around 6,000 megawatts during July and early August as air conditioning ran flat out. Kapitalis reports the heat is expected back from Saturday.
