Tunisia and Libya push the tender on their joint oil block to September
The Tunisian-Libyan company Joint Oil has revised the timetable of the international tender meant to find partners for the Joint Oil offshore block and for the development of the Zarat discovery. According to details Energy-Pedia published on 12 August from the company and its strategic adviser Moyes & Co, the procedure formally opens on 7 September 2026 and stays open until 31 December, with bids to be filed by 8 January 2027, selected firms informed on 26 February and formal awards expected by 30 April. The timetable issued in the spring had the opening on 1 August. The block sits in the Gabès-Tripoli basin, covers about 3,000 square kilometres in water 80 to 120 metres deep, and carries roughly 6,500 kilometres of two-dimensional and 1,900 square kilometres of three-dimensional seismic data.
