Ghannouchi suspends his hunger strike, Ennahdha demands his release

His defence committee says the management of Mornaguia prison informed his lawyers that Ghannouchi had lifted the protest he began on 6 August, at the request of the medical team following him in hospital. He had also stopped taking his medication. Ennahdha welcomed the decision, citing his advanced age and chronic illnesses, demanded an end to what the party calls an isolation imposed by the justice minister, and called for his release.
